My two greatest passions in life are music and painting.
Making Music documents my journey to combining the two into the ultimate creative experience.
During Summer 2021 I was awarded an Undergraduate Research Award from the University of Kansas, where, for several months, I worked in a variety of media, styles, and techniques to explore the best way to capture a performing musician through art (see work below). After completing this summer project, Making Music began to evolve as I teamed up with venues like the Lied Center of Kansas and the Folly Theater in Kansas City, MO to continue this passion project on bigger stages than ever, working in oil paints to capture award-winning musicians (see work above).
From the shadows of an alleyway or behind curtains side-stage, and with nothing but overwhelming joy, these pieces were born.
